Britain’s 95-year-old Queen Elizabeth II politely refused to honour her ‘Old Person of the Year’ award, saying she “does not believe she meets the relevant criteria” for her acceptance.
“Her Majesty the Queen believes that your real age is how she feels, and therefore considers that she does not meet the criteria required to be able to accept (the title) and hopes to find a more worthy recipient,” said a letter from the Queen’s Assistant Private Secretary, Tom Laing Baker.
