Trump’s Foreign Policy Is a Joke and Military Is the Next Target

1 Mins read

Donald Trump’s aggressive foreign policy hinges on military posturing. But what happens when his pick for the head of DOD puts the military at risk? Pete Hegseth is Trump’s choice for Security of Defence.

Pete Hegseth is a military veteran, FOX News presenter, and a controversial figure.  He is accused of sexual misconduct, has a drinking problem, is racist and sexist, and most of all inexperienced and incompetent to head the DOD.

In a recent Senate hearing, Armed Services Committee member Tammy Duckworth said, “he’s not qualified for this job.” But he is probably going to get the job when Trump assumes office.

Pete Hegseth Is Not Fit for Such an Important Role

Sen. Duckworth asked him a simple question: Can he name one member of the ASEAN? Hegseth’s answer was along the lines of “…South Korea and Japan.” Neither of the countries are part of ASEAN. On his ignorance, Duckworth told him to “Do his homework!”

His previous work doesn’t give us a lot of hope either. He headed two non-profit organizations for veterans’ welfare. Both the groups ended in financial problems and as per media reports, ran like “a college frat house.”

He was also grilled on his lack of knowledge on important issues like the Ukraine War and the threat of China. But what’s more problematic is his views on African Americans and women.

Pete Hegseth Will Bring Racism and Sexism to The Military

What united Senators from both parties was Hegseth’s previous comments on women in the military. Pete Hegseth wrote in his 2024 book that women shouldn’t serve in the military. He believes, without any proof, that the military and Pentagon have become “woke,” and he will save them by removing the “wokeness.”

Hegseth wrote in his book ‘War on Warriors” that people like General C.Q. Brown, the African American Joint Chief of Staff, and other Black officers in the military are promoted because of “how they look.” Senator Elizabeth Warren when questioning his concerning rhetoric, called him “unfit to lead the DOD.”
