Shakira’s ex Pique makes relationship with Clara Chia Marti Instagram official

1 Mins read

Wednesday, January 25, former soccer pro Gerard Pique made things Instagram official with his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti. The selfie of the couple curled up close is the first time he has posted Marti on his social media. No caption accompanied the photo.

This social media debut came two weeks after a controversial song called “BZRP Music Session #53” performed by pop star and Pique’s ex, Shakira, came out.. She and Pique were together for 11 years before calling it quits in June 2022. The former couple shares two sons — 7-year-old Sasha and 10-year-old Milan. Reports have surfaced that Pique might have been unfaithful going back to 2021, and the new track confronts these allegations head-on.

The spicy lyrics of Shakira’s song leave little to the imagination with lines like, “Sorry baby, I should have thrown you out a while ago / A she-wolf like me is not for rookies / A she-wolf like me is not for guys like you,” The term “she-wolf” is a nod to Shakira’s 2009 song boasting the same title. It was released shortly before she met Pique in 2010.

The chorus, which is repeated several times in “BZRP Music Session #53“, states, “I’m too good for you, and that’s why you’re with someone just like you.”

The former couple’s breakup was amiable at first. Then, things took a turn to the public eye. Earlier this month, Shakira offered an update involving some missing jam. The songstress loves strawberry jam, while Pique and their sons reportedly cannot stand it.

She knew something was amiss when the jar was emptier than it had been after coming home from a promotional trip. Her suspicions were confirmed when fans spotted Clara Chia Marti in a Zoom interview Pique attended from his home with Shakira in 2021.

Though Pique and Marti went “online official” seven months after the breakup, it appears they have been together for much longer. Before the release of BZRP, Shakira posted on Instagram that people who have endured betrayal need to keep the faith and that “Even if our wounds are still open in this new year, time has a surgeon’s hands.”

Sage words, indeed.
