Did Robert De Niro become the world’s oldest dad at 79?

Robert De Niro, one of the greatest actors of all time, has welcomed his seventh child at the age of 79! The Oscar-winning star and his girlfriend, Tiffany Chen, 41, announced the birth of their daughter, named Sophia, on Sunday.

De Niro and Chen have been dating since 2018 after the actor separated from his second wife, Grace Hightower, with whom he shares two children. De Niro also has four other children from his previous relationships with Diahnne Abbott and Toukie Smith.

The couple was spotted with their newborn baby in New York City on Monday, looking happy and relaxed. Chen cradled Sophia in her arms while De Niro carried a diaper bag and a coffee cup.

De Niro is known for his iconic roles in films such as The Godfather Part II, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Casino, and The Irishman. He has won two Academy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award, and many other honors. He is also the co-founder of the Tribeca Film Festival and the film and television production company TriBeCa Productions.

Despite his advanced age, De Niro shows no signs of slowing down. He has several upcoming projects in the works, including Killers of the Flower Moon, directed by Martin Scorsese and co-starring Leonardo DiCaprio; About My Father, a comedy based on the life of Sebastian Maniscalco; Tin Soldier, a sci-fi thriller; and Inappropriate Behavior, a drama about sexual harassment.

Yet, in spite of becoming a father in his late 70s, De Niro is not the oldest man in the world to do so. The record belongs to an Australian pensioner named Les Coley, who became a dad at 92. It is to be noted, however, that the average age of a father in the US is 30.

De Niro has not yet commented publicly on the latest addition to his family, but sources close to him say he is overjoyed and proud. He is reportedly a devoted father who loves spending time with his children and grandchildren.
