Visitors to the Syrian pavilion in the exhibition can see a replica of the Ugarit alphabet, which is agreed to be the first alphabet in history dating back to around 1400 BC.
The Syria pavilion at Expo 2020 enables us to learn about the stages of the development of writing and the alphabet in various regions of Syria, and how this alphabet has affected the world, leading to the Arabic language, which affected many of the world’s languages.
