GANDERBAL 14TH FEBRUARY 2022: A Twenty-year-old rapper from central Kashmir Ganderbal district is winning hearts by his rap videos which have gone viral on social media.
Hailing from batwina village of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, sahil Farooq said that he doesn’t want to remain confined only to the books. “I wanted to break this monotony and decided to rap,” sahil said.
A student of fist year in Govt Degree College Sumbal, sahil is the youngest rapper in Kashmir.
He came to limelight after he released his song on his YouTube channel under title MACHAYENGE in the month of August 2021.
“The video spread across the Internet like a wildfire and it got around sixty thousand views and three thousand subscribers,” he said.
Sahil said he received huge appreciation and love from the people which motivated him to sing more rap songs which is based on day to day social causes.
I created my own YouTube channel with the name “Dope world,” he said.
He has so far recorded 13 songs and posted them on his YouTube channel with few of his videos crossing sixty thousand views. He was recently featured in a Kashmiri song titled “vibs hip hop Kashmir 2022”.
Sahil’s friend said, “He was interested in music and singing since childhood but he wrote and developed interest in rap and hip-hop during the lockdown.”
He has full support of his parents. Sahil’s friend encourages him to fulfill his raperstar dream.
