Just Fix founder Adam Graham shakes the foundations of the home maintenance market

3 Mins read

Adam Graham is the brains behind Just Fix – a disruptive new concept and company specialising in urgent home repairs that are on a mission to ‘uberise’ the historically sluggish home maintenance sector.

Set for imminent launch, Just Fix is a hyper-local, real-time marketplace that connects customers with pre-vetted tradespeople to provide the fastest, most trusted solutions to urgent home maintenance needs.

CEO and founder Adam developed the Just Fix concept after a frustrating experience trying to secure a quick remedy to his own property maintenance emergency. Just Fix uses slick technology which makes finding a builder just as easy as booking a taxi or ordering a take-away.

Adam is a London-based entrepreneur who has previously built several successful companies in the technology and marketing sectors. With his latest venture, Adam has identified urgent home maintenance as an industry ripe for a serious shake-up, with customers desperate for fast, intuitive remedies to fix everyday issues around the home.

Adam says: “As we’ve all experienced at some time or another, it can be stressful when things suddenly go wrong around the house. With this in mind, we’ve made the Just Fix booking process as simple as possible. By only using trusted tradespeople, this in an instant eliminates much of the anxiety of getting a home repair issue fixed professionally and fast.”

In order to facilitate this, Adam and his team have made the Just Fix app and online user journey simplicity itself. It’s just a case of search, book, track and pay. Adam envisages these intrinsic high levels of customer reassurance allied with a stress-free user experience as central pillars of the Just Fix business model. He says: “Our Just Fix app and online tech takes customers to a booking in just 30 seconds. Its in-built process, language and design is geared wholly towards reducing anxiety.

“Customers will discover that this no-waiting solution means considerably less stress. This is enhanced by Just Fix using a real-time selection of professional fixers in local areas, with customers themselves using geo-location and real-time tracking of their fixer’s progress to the job.” With remote video now commonplace, Just Fix is embracing it as a major element of its intuitive urgent home repairs first-response concept.

“Our customers can chat to our tradespeople via video,” explains Adam. “The tradespeople can then identify the fastest way to triage urgent home emergencies and decide the most effective first steps. “Just Fix are blazing a trail in offering this slick, stress-free experience for customers.”

The keyword ‘trust’ – trust in all the tradespeople booked by its customers – is a crucial component of the Just Fix ethos.

“All our fixers are background checked and fully qualified to make sure each one is suitable, giving extra peace of mind to our customers,” says Adam. “The fixers themselves also benefit from no up-front costs and a fair commission scheme.”

Adam sees Just Fix’s novel approach to the home repairs sector as a sustainable proposition that aims to provide and develop a transparent, two-sided market between tradespeople and customers.

He explains: “By connecting customers – such as homeowners, tenants and landlords – to local fixers such as plumbers, carpenters and locksmiths, Just Fix are putting ourselves at the heart of local communities, with a fair value equation for all.”

Ahead of the platform’s upcoming launch, Adam has bolstered the Just Fix team with several high-profile appointments.

Margaret Manning OBE – founder and CEO of independent digital agency Reading Room – joins as Chair.

Richard Kenee (ex-RBS, Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase) joins as COO. He will oversee the scaling of Just Fix’s systems and processes with a focus on strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions.

Qualified carpenter and plasterer Simon Blake joins as Chief Fixer, who will support the growing community of fixers and customers that make up both sides of Just Fix’s hyper-local marketplace.

Joining as a board advisor is Chris Cater, co-founder and COO of Yuno Juno, a marketplace that connects freelancers and agencies in the tech and creative sectors.

Adam adds: ” We are delighted to welcome such a talented bunch to our growing team. All our new appointments have significant executive experience and will contribute invaluable skills, as Just Fix transfers from concept to market disruptor.”

Just Fix are democratising their investment opportunity by bringing on board early-stage advocates of the service through the equity crowdfunding platform, Seedrs, with the public phase launching in April.
