AKSH, Törk: Indie Superstars Release New Single ”Yeno Yeno”

AKSH and Törk, the indie vocalist-producer duo met during their college days and have been an unstoppable artistic force since. Since 2018, the two have explored many sounds and genres and released hits like, “Saaguthiru”, “Kyun”, “Bheeg Chuke”, and “Need you”.

The duo has joined forces with DANNI on their latest single Yeno Yeno and have produced a bright, soulful Kannada pop track. The Kannada independent music scene is dominated by hip-hop and rap projects, and the pop sound of Yeno Yeno is an experimental venture that runs against the mainstream idea prevalent in Kannada indie music.

AKSH and Törk comment, “Yeno Yeno was a gamble because our audience is used to a very different sound from us, but as artists we have to grow and experiment and express ourselves. We had the idea to make an upbeat and inspiring track and with DANNI’s help we were able to bring our vision to real life and we hope everyone is as excited as us about this new direction in our music.”.

Well, Yeno Yeno was a gamble but it has hit the jackpot! Törk’s production and lyrics combined with DANNI’s instrumental arrangements makes the perfect soundscape for AKSH’s smooth vocals. The track is 3-minutes of bliss and calm.

Matching the aesthetic feel of the song, the music video is a visual feast with subdued pastel hues, a languid pace and a laid back portrayal of a child’s birthday celebration. For the 4 minute 43 seconds of the video, the rest of the world stops and us viewers can relax and enjoy artistic beauty away from our anxieties.

The music video stars Yanvi, Nirikshith, Ashika VR, Manjot Singh and the adorable Sathvika Y Gowda – who plays the birthday kid.

The music video was completed in the second half of April 2022 and the production was managed by Inchara Arun, who also took on the role of the art manager. Propzup Events were the creators behind the outdoor set and powered through heavy rains and storms to bring the set to life.

The cinematography was handled by Vkey, the DOP and Nirikshith and SDY acted as the co-cinematographers. Nomad Collection, a Bangalore-based thrift store, was the official clothing partner.
