Strengthening Technological Collaborations Through Improved Systems

4 Mins read

The tech industry thrives on partnerships, especially with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), to bring new solutions and products to the market. However, forming these partnerships is typically a complicated process. A 2024 Gartner report highlights that over 70% of tech businesses are not able to scale partner operations due to manual processes, incompatible data, and sluggish onboarding. These have the potential to slow down transactions, enrage teams, and incur massive costs due to lost time. The industry needs practical solutions to simplify partnerships, speed them up, and make them more consistent.

The essence of the challenge is onboarding, getting the systems, contracts, and processes of a partner aligned effectively. Traditional methods rely heavily on manual interventions, which are time-consuming and prone to errors. A leading tech firm enlisted the services of experts like Sandeep Sonawane to overcome the same, and his work on the onboarding system has made the process of such partnerships smoother.

An Issue-Solver with an Emphasis on Clarity

Sandeep Sonawane, a senior business analyst at a top tech company, has been streamlining complicated systems for over 17 years. With a Master’s in Computer Management and certifications as a Salesforce Administrator, Advanced Administrator, and Sales Cloud Consultant, he is well-versed in process automation and data integration. His professional experience has involved postings in India and the U.S., where he has worked on creating systems that support business goals. “I get drawn to creating tools that will allow individuals to get their work done, like creating partnerships or selling, without distraction,” he explained to us in an interview a few months back.

Sandeep developed an interest in system optimization early in life. Raised in India, he witnessed firsthand how technology could simplify complexity, from community businesses to multinational operations. This set him on the path to becoming a Salesforce tool master, where he learned the ability to take disorganized processes and distill them into streamlined, well-ordered workflows. In his new position, he recognized potential in streamlining how the firm handles OEM partnerships, which gave rise to a project that addressed a vital bottleneck.

Crossing a Partnership Barrier

Sandeep’s greatest contribution was creating an automated end-to-end onboarding process for OEM partners. The process was inefficient and error-prone in the past, with teams performing manual tasks like contract setup, price updates, and order processing. These tasks always led to delays or mistakes that frustrated internal teams and partners. Sandeep aimed to do better and create a system that simply automated the whole onboarding process, from agreement to fulfillment.

With Salesforce’s CRM and Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) functionality, Sandeep built a solution that covered every step: deal registration, pricing rules, cost relief, bookings, and renewals. The solution reduced manual work by 99%, internal 2024 data revealed, to simplify onboarding and make it quicker and more consistent. “The idea was to build a process where partners and teams could move forward without being slowed down by paperwork or errors,” he said. Not only did this save time, but it also enhanced data accuracy, making partnerships more predictable.

The system enabled partners to concentrate on their core activity, such as selling and expansion, instead of problem-solving. It also showed that even complicated processes could be made efficient and flexible, initiating a new trend of working with OEMs in the company.

Working Across Teams

Constructing this system wasn’t just technology; it was accomplished by working together. Sandeep collaborated with sales, marketing, and IT teams to make the solution workable. He broke down every step, from contract terms to pricing rules, and developed definitive guides to allow teams to implement the new process. “It’s about ensuring the technology assists the people who are implementing it,” he said.

Sandeep’s ability to connect various groups played a central role. He consulted with partner teams to have the system fit their needs and gave input on how to make the most out of Salesforce tools. His efforts united teams, prevented confusion, and saved time through the automated processes of standard procedures. The result was a better streamlined process of partnerships that everyone could rely on.

Encouraging Partnerships and Industrial Development

Sandeep’s work has spillover benefits beyond his company, benefiting partnerships in the technology industry. His automated platform speeds up onboarding and reduces mistakes, allowing partners to take solutions to market faster. It is stated in a 2025 Forrester report that scaling technology partnerships is achieved through automation, and Sandeep’s offering aligns with this, illustrating how to make collaboration productive and trustworthy.

To business, that translates to real-world advantages. Partners can deliver solutions earlier, to data centers, to AI environments, or to smart retail systems. Smaller partners especially gain by sidestepping bureaucratic drag, enabling them to compete more effectively. In a changing business, Sandeep’s system keeps partnerships humming, enabling the wider tech supply chain.

Raising the Bar for Efficiency

Sandeep’s achievements are just one part of a larger movement towards streamlined tech operations. His use of Salesforce technologies and focus on data-driven solutions set a standard for approaching challenging processes effortlessly. By keeping partners at the center, he’s established a system that not only is quick, but also adaptable, ready to change as the industry grows.

His approach is working. Other divisions of his firm are starting to introduce similar levels of automation, a byproduct of his success. His work is establishing a model that other tech firms might use to streamline their own partnership structures.

A Future of Seamless Collaboration

Sandeep envisions a future that is technology-based, where collaboration is seamless, with the systems taking care of the complex details in the background. “We are moving towards a point where collaboration is seamless, regardless of how complex the backend is,” he said. His onboarding platform is one step towards that, allowing smoother collaboration among companies and offering solutions that push today’s technology.

By fixing a core problem, Sandeep enabled his business to improve the manner in which it collaborates with partners. His efforts enable teams and partners, ranging from startups to international leaders, to construct a tech ecosystem that is more cohesive and efficient, ready to support a digitalizing world.
