How Grok AI Tried to Hide Trump’s Truth Social Post Following a Hollywood Tragedy

2 Mins read

Rob Reiner and Michele were murdered on Sunday in their home, and the news stunned everyone. While we were still reeling from the shock, Trump dropped a nasty post on Truth Social that went viral.

To confirm whether the president really made such a post, a lot of X users asked Grok AI about it. The response they got added another kind of shock. The AI chatbot clearly said it wasn’t true. Why was Grok trying to hide the truth when it clearly happened?

When the Bot Said, “That Never Happened”

Trump posted a rant on Truth Social that Reiner’s death was due to what he called “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” Several people made screenshots of his post, and before you knew it, it was all over X. Even though the original post was still on Trump’s Truth Social account, Grok continued to deny its existence.

In fact, the bot even went ahead to say it checked Trump’s account, and guess what? It said the screenshots were fake and fabricated. It was hours later before it “changed” its mind, and that’s after many publications had posted it.

Why is this a major issue? A lot of Americans, especially those younger than 40 years, use AI tools to summarize breaking news. So, when a tool like Grok AI denies an event, it’s changing history and putting people in the dark.

Power, Platforms, and Selective Blindness

What’s even more annoying is that Musk marketed Grok as anti-woke and truth-seeking. But it seems the truth-seeking part is just a marketing ploy. This recent episode showed us selective blindness in full display, which has become common with the tool, especially when the truth is politically toxic.

Media watchers have already noticed a pattern. Grok’s mistakes often favor powerful people on Musk-aligned platforms.

While the focus at the moment might be on Trump, it goes beyond him. When an AI tool is constantly filtering events, we need to question if indeed it’s just a mistake or intentional. The fact that one billionaire is in control of the platform, the bot, and the rules is proving that these “bugs” are not accidental, as we’re made to believe.
