The first leg was a close competition with Barcelona leading the scoreboard 3-2 with three minutes remaining on the clock. However, during stoppage time, Francesco Acerbi scored his first-ever European goal to tie the first leg of the match at 3-3.

On Tuesday night, Inter – Barcelona met again for the second-leg of the semi-finals, which will prove to be the most dramatic and tense tiebreaker in UEFA’s history. Inter Milan defeated Barcelona 4–3 in extra time to advance to the final, where they will face either PSG or Arsenal.

Inter-Barcelona: A Desperate Struggle for Supremacy

The Inter-Barcelona battle kept us on the edge of our seats till the last minute of extra time. Inter Milan completely dominated the first half, leading the scoreboard with a 2-0 advantage. But Barcelona got back into the game in the second half.

Two back-to-back goals from Eric Garcia and Dani Olmo in just six minutes leveled the scoreboard. The game was at a standstill till the 86th minute. In the 87th, a rebound landed in front of Barcelona’s Raphina, which he shot through the far post, turning the tide of the Inter-Barcelona battle.

And just when we thought that Barcelona were going into the UEFA finals, Inter’s defender Francesco Acerbi found the back of the net at the 93rd minute mark to tie the match and push the Inter-Barcelona faceoff into extra time. And in a stunning turn of events, Davide Frattesi scored past Szczęsny in extra time, giving Inter Milan a 7-6 aggregate lead and a ticket to the finals.
