The fighter with indomitable spirit, Amjad Khan hailing from Uttar Pradesh, is the youngest boxer of India. Born in July 2, 1994, Amjad Khan is a man with diverse interests from being a professional boxer, to serial entrepreneuras well as international boxing promoter.Amjad belongs to a family of warriors, his forefather displayed valorous authority being a part of the British Indian Army who fought in World War I. Moreover, Mohammad Aliyar Khan, his grandfather was the freedom fighter during the national freedom movement.
To talk of his alma mater, Amjad Khan accomplished his school education from Army School, Bangalore. He had developed a strong passion in boxing since childhood giving rise to the concern of his parents to utilise his calibre and show him the correct path to follow to have a bright career in boxing ahead.Therefore Amjad joined KSOPC Boxing Club, Kolkata in order to pursue his training, in the year 2002. Amjad was sincerely practising under the guidance of his mentor Mohammad Ali Qamar, gold medallist at 2002 Common Wealth Games, who helped him discover the fighter within himself. From that time, Amjad’s life took a turning point as now his boxing career was flooded with awards and worldwide recognitions. From winning gold medal in All India Rajiv Gandhi Boxing Competition (2005) in Bengal, to winning the gold medal in Inter-Army Boxing Championship (2007) held at Shillong, Amjad Khan has worn many hats.Adding more feathers to his hat, Amjad was selected in Indian boxing team for subsequent five years from 2008 onwards.
Moreover, Amjad Khan is a recognised boxer who bagged gold medals in several national championships including Youth National Boxing Championship, Inter Army Boxing Competition, Rajiv Gandhi Boxing Competition and All India Inter SAI Boxing Championship among others. Also, his benign presence was requested by Lord DiljitRana, Baron of Malone at the NRI World Summit and Pride of India Awards with the theme “How to Change A Life” in the year 2017, which he unfortunately couldn’t attend due to his health issues. More recently, he was honoured with the prestigious Bharat Ceremony Award in the year 2019.The founder of Amjad Khan Boxing Foundation and Amjad Khan Boxing Academy, Amjad Khan is the youngest philanthropist to motivate the spirit of sportsmanship among youth via his academy. “Amjad has a relentless passion for promoting not only boxers but also other budding sport people, I have witnessed this numerous times the things he does to get young sports people and boxers in particular to reach their best potential, one thing is worth noting here which happened earlier this year when brother Amjad introduced me to the former President of World Boxing Council, who is also the CEO of the world’s largest boxing promotion company to get the debut professional fight for Arjuna Awardee Mandeep Jangra in USA.
