Karoline Leavitt Is Mastering the Art of White House Gaslighting

2 Mins read

Karoline Leavitt showed incredible potential as the youngest White House Press Secretary. However, she has turned out to be just another mouthpiece for Trump and the MAGA crowd. After her latest attempt at defending Trump, users on X are asking whether she “believes everyone is as gullible as MAGA.”

Since stepping onto the stage as White House Press Secretary, Leavitt has done nothing but spread lies and misinformation. In her very first press conference, she defended Musk’s statement about USAID wasting $50 million on condoms in Gaza and Trump’s blatant lies about the LA fires.

Recently, Leavitt has been busy playing the role of “Gaslighter-in-Chief,” fiercely defending Trump’s bizarre claims and illegal actions.

Leavitt Justifies Ignoring Judges—Because Trump

On Saturday, Trump invoked the draconian 18th-century law, the Alien Enemies Act, to deport hundreds of Venezuelan migrants to El Salvador. The Trump administration claimed that these illegal immigrants belonged to the infamous Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. Did the Trump administration have proof? Nope.

As a result, U.S. District Judge Boasberg blocked the deportation. But the Trump administration decided to ignore the judicial order and proceeded with its plan anyway. For any other administration, this would have been a massive blunder, and they would be scrambling to fix it somehow.

But not the Trump administration. They shamelessly doubled down. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, in an interview with CNN, defended Trump’s actions by stating that “the judicial order came too late.” She explained that the Trump administration “didn’t ignore the order”—the order came when the “terrorist aliens” had already been removed from U.S. territory.

Leavitt went one step further and gaslighted the judiciary, claiming that the order was actually “unlawful” and had “no legal basis.”

White House Press Secretary Defends Trump’s Random Rant

Early Monday morning, Trump went on a random rant on Truth Social, declaring that Biden’s pardon of the Jan. 6 committee members who investigated him was “VOID and VACANT.” He argued that the signatures were done with an autopen—a device that automates signatures—making them void.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt gave it a wild spin, framing it not as a claim but as “begging the question.” Leavitt stated that Trump was simply raising the question of whether former President Biden actually knew about these pardons. She urged everyone to “ponder this question” as well.

The autopen theory stemmed from a post by the Heritage Foundation, which claimed that the person controlling the autopen was actually controlling the presidency. Whatever its origin, Leavitt made sure to gaslight the entire nation into believing that Trump wasn’t just spewing a random conspiracy theory but was actually onto something profound.
