Trump’s AI Action Plan Will Ruin the Tech Sector

1 Mins read

Recently, President Donald Trump unveiled America’s AI action plan, which his administration has hailed as the right path for the United States to establish dominance in artificial intelligence. However, this deregulation will ruin the tech sector. Trump called AI a beautiful baby, but he wants to raise that baby without rules. Here’s the question we need to answer: What happens when a baby grows up without supervision?

AI Action Plan is a Trojan Horse for Tech Mayhem

What is this AI action plan all about? Simply put, Trump wants to eliminate the federal regulations that keep emerging technologies in check. His administration wants to scrap diversity and misinformation and even defund states with strong AI oversight. Such actions will make Silicon Valley unaccountable and free to act in ways that can hurt the country.

Former Biden officials have also come forward to warn the country about the security risks of getting rid of these safety standards. We need to bear in mind that autonomous weapons and deepfakes already possess the capacity to rig elections. Yet, the White House doesn’t consider it to be an issue, whereas tech billionaires get to do as they please.

Speed Over Safety: The Road to a Digital Disaster

For Trump and his team, they just want America to be ahead in the AI race. However, this doesn’t mean they should go about things the way they are planning to. Fast-tracking data center permits and cutting regulations on AI tools used in federal agencies, the military, and law enforcement could spell doom for the nation. Although the intentions might be good, with the desire to reflect the objective truth using AI, this standard is too vague to apply.

AI experts have warned that vague ideological filters may end up slowing down innovation. What’s worse, it could encourage companies to build tools to further political agendas instead of providing factual accuracy. Tech billionaires and investors might applaud Trump’s AI action plan, but the reality is that the move is not innovative in any way. Without proper oversight, AI is just a tech apocalypse waiting to happen.
