Trump Threatens Colorado and Disregards Law & Order in Election Clerk Case

2 Mins read

President Donald Trump has once again called for the release of Tina Peters, an ex-clerk who was recently found guilty in Colorado’s election data breach case. Peters was found guilty after she allowed an outside activist access to voting equipment. According to Peters, she was searching for election fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

Trump, as well as many MAGA activists, have called for Peters to be released. Because Peters has been charged with state crimes, Trump cannot pardon her.

As a result, all Trump can do is put pressure on Colorado — and he’s doing exactly that. As Trump’s second term in the White House continues, it’s clear that the president who claims he loves law and order actually doesn’t care for justice at all.

Trump Threatens Harsh Measures on Colorado

Trump recently took to Truth Social to demand Peters’ release, stating that she is an “old woman” and “very sick.” He also claimed that she did nothing wrong and simply caught the Democrats cheating in the 2020 election — a claim that has never been proven. Tina Peters didn’t find any fraud when she illegally accessed voting equipment.

Trump also threatened that if Peters is not released, he will “take harsh measures.” Of course, we all know now that this isn’t an empty threat. The Trump administration has made it its mission to go after anyone it deems to be against the president.

Just look at how the Trump administration has dealt with American universities. Instead of fighting for their students, these universities have caved to Trump’s threats. Now, Trump is clearly expecting Colorado to do the same.

Republicans Found Tina Peters Guilty

Trump also clearly doesn’t care about law and order. If he did, he wouldn’t be demanding that Peters be released. Peters was found guilty by a jury of her peers, whom she chose, in Mesa County in 2024.

Dan Rubinstein prosecuted the case. Rubinstein is a Republican district attorney who has publicly stated that it’s wrong to state Tina Peters did nothing wrong. She did. She broke the law and cost Mesa County citizens more than a million dollars.

Furthermore, Mesa County is overwhelmingly conservative — and even one of the most conservative counties in all of Colorado. The board of county commissioners who chose to prosecute Peters are all Republicans. These Republican officials sought justice. They sought law and order.

Trump, as we can see, doesn’t care about justice at all.
