As soon as the white smoke erupted out of the Vatican, MAGA also erupted in a series of meltdowns. Turns out that the new Pope, Cardinal Robert Prevost, the first American pontiff, is not a big fan of Donald Trump and JD Vance.
The MAGA crowd tried their best to influence the Vatican with their $100 bottles of wine and promises of massive donations in the future. But after just two days of voting, it became clear that the Vatican wasn’t going to wear the MAGA hat. Instead, the Catholic Church’s College of Cardinals appointed a public critic of Donald Trump, Robert Prevost, as the new pope.
Robert Prevost Is Not a Fan Of Trump And Vance
Robert Prevost, a resident of Chicago, voted Republican in the primaries of 2012, 2014 and 2016, according to information received from the Washington Free Beacon. He also voted in the general elections in 2012 and 2016, as well as in 2018 and 2024.
His previous voting record as a Republican garnered him support from many MAGA sycophants. Charlie Kirk, a Christian right-wing fanatic and the founder of Turning Point USA, initially backed Robert Prevost as the new Pope, pointing to his apparent Republican voting pattern. But his support wavered when Prevost’s tweets criticizing Trump surfaced.
The official Twitter handle of “End Wokeness” posted screenshots of reposts by Robert Prevost. In one of the posts, the new Pope was criticizing Trump’s first-term immigration policies, and in another one, he was advocating for gun reforms. It also turns out that Prevost was a BLM supporter. In one of his previous tweets, he advocated for ending “racism in our heart and society,” in the wake of George Floyd’s murder.
MAGA Meltdown Was Swift And Hilarious
Krik posted a video on X airing his concerns about the old tweets from Robert Prevost, calling them “not-so-great tweets.” He also mused that perhaps an American pope was selected because the Vatican wanted a voice that is also for the “opening of American borders, while we have Trump!”
Other MAGA fanatics like Trump’s favorite far-right internet troll, Laura Loomer, were having a full-blown midlife crisis. Loomer posted on X, “Just another Marxist puppet in the Vatican.” She added that “Catholics don’t have anything good to look forward to.” She also claimed that the new pope wants us to pray for “career criminals & drug addict George Floyd.”
In her later tweets, she turned up the rhetoric by another notch. Loomer posted on X, continuing her hilarious vitriol over old tweets from Robert Prevost, “The tweet said, ‘May all hatred, violence and prejudice be eradicated.’ What prejudice? Is that another way to spell FENTANYL OVERDOSE? MARXIST POPE!”
Another far-right lunatic, Jack Posobic, joined Loomer in her meltdown on Real America’s Voice. He commented about Robert Prevost: “What I’m seeing from his social media does not bode well for Trump supporters. God save the church.”
