Republicans Keep Talking About Joe Biden to Cover Up Their Shortcomings

2 Mins read

It’s always someone else to blame for Donald Trump and Republicans. They never own their shortcomings and instead focus on finding excuses somewhere else. That’s one of the reasons they keep talking about former President Joe Biden.

Republicans are Obsessed with Biden

Since taking the office, Trump rarely misses an opportunity to mention Biden. The New York Times found that he mentioned Biden at least six times every day on average in his first 50 days as President. Every time something went wrong or he faced a challenge or a crisis, Trump would say it was because Biden did or didn’t do something. His fellow Republicans often join, repeating the same remarks.

Recently, they went even further. There is an open investigation about whether Biden’s declining health was covered up by his advisors. Senate Republicans are happily wasting time discussing Biden’s “mental fitness” while he was in the office instead of doing something purposeful. Trump’s administration is also questioning use of autopen for signing documents and pardons during the time Biden was president. Despite this being a standard practice, Trump continues to claim, without any evidence, that someone else made the executive decisions, saying that “whoever used the autopen was the president.”

Trump Can’t Even Get the Basic Accusations Right

Not only does Trump talk about Biden more than anyone ever should, he also consistently misses the mark. CNN compiled a list of Trump’s 100 false claims from his first 100 days in office, and a large portion of them are tied to Biden. For example, he stated that the U.S. had experienced the “highest inflation” in its history during Biden’s presidency. The inflation rate at the time was 9.1%, significantly lower than the 23.7% recorded in 1920. Trump also claimed that 21 million immigrants entered the country while Biden was president, while the real figure was 11 million.

Trump didn’t stop there. He also endorsed various crazy conspiracy theories about Biden. The most bizarre one was that Biden was “executed” in 2020 and replaced with a robotic clone. He shared the claim, made by an anonymous user, on his official TruthSocial account.

Trump is Trying to Create a Distraction

Talking about Biden is a way for Trump to create a distraction. He hopes that if he continues to keep the spotlight on his predecessor, the voters won’t discuss his many failures, such as immigration policy, tariffs, and the One Big Beautiful Bill. Let’s not let him achieve his goal.
