Former US Secretary of State Colin Powell died after contracting the Coronavirus, at the age of 84.
Powell’s family announced his death in an official statement, stressing that it came after he suffered from complications from the emerging coronavirus.
Powell is the first black American Secretary of State, and with many Republican administrations, he played a prominent role in shaping American foreign policy in the later years of the twentieth century and the early years of the twenty-first century.
