For the last few months, it felt like Elon Musk was on top of the world. Not only was he the richest man in the world, but he also became the shadow president of the wealthiest nation on the planet. Musk was basically living a dream with a chainsaw in his hands.
However, all of a sudden, Tesla stock dropped by 45% as protests across the Americas and Europe broke out. Tesla protests took a drastic turn as people started calling Tesla the “Nazi Car,” while some brave souls resorted to vandalism and setting Tesla cars on fire. The protests and boycotts got so bad that Donald Trump had to promote Tesla like a door-to-door salesman.
Musk was shocked by the backlash he was facing and decided to go on Fox News to whine about it. Even during his whining, which Adam Conover called very satisfying to watch, he completely missed the point of the Tesla protests. He blamed the left and the Democrats for not showing empathy and for orchestrating these “vicious attacks.”
Elon Musk’s whining reached a breaking point when he innocently stated, “I have never done anything harmful; I have only done productive things.” It is unclear from Musk’s statement whether he is ignorant or a liar. But here are three times when Elon Musk did very harmful things.

Musk Poured $288 Million Into Making a Convicted Felon President.
In his Fox News interview, Musk called the Democrats “the party of empathy” and made a call against violence. He conveniently forgot that he invested more than $288 million into making a felon the president of the U.S.—the same person who caused the January 6 Capitol riots, which resulted in the deaths of five people and injuries to more than 140 police officers.
Later, the same president pardoned the rioters and let them roam free on the streets of the U.S. Following the pardons, right-wing lunatics called for retribution, with members of the Proud Boys stating, “We will never forget, we will never forgive.”
Experts fear that the pardons will fuel the fast-growing far-right terrorism in the U.S. Over the last two decades, far-right terrorism has been responsible for 57% of all terrorism-related incidents in the country. In 2019 alone, right-wing extremists were responsible for 75% of all terrorist attacks in the U.S.
It’s harmful and not productive!

Elon Musk Cuts Funding For Cancer Research For Children
Elon Musk, an unelected billionaire, had a problem with the first spending bill introduced by the GOP in Congress. So, he went on social media and, using his platform X, made 150 posts labeling the bill as the “worst ever written” and paired them with some outrageous claims. Musk claimed that the bill included “a substantial salary increase for Congress members,” which was promptly refuted by fact-checkers.
Musk urged Republicans to reject the bill while threatening “political repercussions” for those who supported it. Finally, the bill was dropped, leading Democrats to refer to Musk as the “shadow president.”
The new bill proposed by Musk and DOGE targeted a cut of $2 trillion, or 25%, from the federal budget. The new bill also includes massive cuts to cancer research for children. Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease among children in America. Experts predict that Musk’s cut to cancer research could put more than 15,000 children in danger.

Musk’s Dismantling of the USAID
Elon Musk and his DOGE have called USAID a “fraud” multiple times. In an interview, Musk claimed that USAID is “one of the biggest sources of fraud in the world.” His attempt led to the Executive Order suspending USAID.
Experts have claimed that Musk’s allegations are baseless and hold no merit while explaining the importance of the work done by USAID. USAID’s flagship program, PEPFAR, has saved more than 25 million lives worldwide from HIV/AIDS. Research estimates that USAID has prevented the deaths of over 1.3 million women.
Global medical researchers claim that the disruption of USAID can trigger a resurgence in HIV infections. For instance, if key services like ARV therapy are interrupted, it can cause a surge in HIV cases in eight countries. This can result in more than 10 million additional HIV cases and cause the deaths of 3 million people worldwide.
Let’s not forget about children—Republicans love to talk about children. USAID efforts have resulted in a massive reduction in the under-five child mortality rate. Countries that work with USAID have seen a reduction of 29 fewer deaths per 1,000 births compared to countries that don’t. USAID runs several key initiatives like vaccination, nutritional support, and improved healthcare. A rollback of these programs can put millions of children at risk and reverse decades of progress.
How about malaria? USAID prevented over 1 million deaths due to its painstaking efforts in the poorest regions of Africa alone. As Time Magazine reported, even a 90-day funding freeze can cause a 15 million rise in malaria cases, resulting in over 100,000 more deaths annually.
At this point, Elon Musk has blood on his hands. So, let’s remind Elon Musk again: “Mr. Musk, your actions are not productive; they are harmful.”
