Tesla shares are plummeting, SpaceX’s rockets are landing backward, and DOGE is losing every legal battle, but Elon Musk’s love for Hitler and fascism keeps growing. Musk showed his admiration for Hitler and the Nazis during Trump’s inauguration by performing the Nazi salute twice. But Musk didn’t stop there.
Musk responded to the backlash against his Nazi salute by making unfunny Nazi “puns” and jokes that the ADL called “inappropriate” and “offensive.” Recently, Musk retweeted a post claiming that dictators like Hitler, Stalin, and Mao Zedong didn’t kill millions of people; instead, it was the “public sector workers” who did the killing.
Why Blame The Public Sector Workers?
Musk, with his retweet, is not only trying to shift the blame from dictators like Hitler and Mao but also attempting to paint public sector workers in a negative light. As the head of DOGE, Musk has been working hard to fire as many government employees as possible.
The Trump-Musk tag team has fired tens of thousands of federal workers from critical agencies like the Department of Agriculture, Veterans Affairs, IRS, and CDC. The Department of Education became the latest victim, with more than 50% of its staff being laid off.
Musk has been clear about his disdain for public sector workers. In a press conference at the Oval Office, Musk defended DOGE, stating that the U.S. shouldn’t be run by “unelected bureaucrats.” During a conservative event, Musk posed with a chainsaw, calling it the “chainsaw for bureaucracy.” However, Musk failed to realize that he is the same “unelected bureaucrat” he sought to eliminate.
Musk Faces Backlash from Labor Unions and Social Media
The president of the labor union AFL-CIO reminded Musk that America’s public sector workers, such as nurses, teachers, and firefighters, make communities safe, healthy, and strong.
He added that billionaires like Elon Musk have no idea what “real people go through every day.” That’s why he is so eager to chainsaw through people’s jobs, Medicaid, and Social Security.
Social media users were also quick to point out that Elon Musk’s retweet was nothing less than “Holocaust denialism,” while others called it “disgusting” and “deeply flawed reasoning.” Author Aly Sebastian replied to Musk’s post, calling it the “absolute worst thing you’ve posted to date.”
