Tish Cyrus, the mother of pop stars Miley and Noah Cyrus, has once again found love!
On Saturday, she took to Instagram to announce her engagement to Dominic Purcell, a British-Australian actor who has gained fame for his work in movies like “Equilibrium” and “Assault on Wall Street,” although best known for his role in the TV series “Prison Break.”
Tish Cyrus was previously married to country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. She shared two pictures of herself with Purcell in her post — the first one showcasing her square-cut engagement ring and the second one displaying the affectionate embrace between the couple. Cyrus expressed her excitement with the caption, “A thousand times…. YES.”
Just a few days prior to announcing their engagement, Purcell took to Instagram to share a photo of himself with Cyrus, along with a sweet message for his future fiancée. In his post, he expressed how lucky he felt to be with Cyrus and referred to her as the best person he has ever met while also acknowledging that he is “punching way above” his weight.
This upcoming marriage will be Cyrus’ third, following her previous marriages to Baxter Neal Helson from 1986 to 1989 and Billy Ray Cyrus, whom she married in 1993. Cyrus and Billy Ray have five children together, including Brandi, Trace, Miley, Braison, and Noah. Brandi and Trace are Cyrus’ children from her previous marriage to Helson, but Billy Ray adopted them.
According to court documents obtained by USA TODAY, Cyrus filed for divorce from Billy Ray in April 2022, citing irreconcilable differences. The documents also revealed that the couple had been living separately for more than two years. This divorce filing came after two previous attempts at divorce, with Billy Ray filing a petition in 2010 and Cyrus filing for divorce herself in 2013.
