Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was recently arrested on sex trafficking charges, reportedly communicated with his kids while incarcerated. An informant who talked with People on Monday claims that the 54-year-old rapper has “spoken briefly over the phone with family members and his children.” Additionally, the source mentioned that Diddy is “extremely concerned” for his children’s “well-being” at this time.
The person brought up the fact that two of Diddy’s children, who are minors, currently have “no living parent available” due to their father’s incarceration. “None of his seven children have a parent available while he is incarcerated,” they continued.
Diddy’s children are going through a lot of mental difficulties, according to a second source close to the family, who described them as being in “a state of crisis and shock” as they deal with their father’s charges. The insider described the situation the kids are in as “heartbreaking.” Their father is this. But he is just a Dad to them, not Diddy. He is and has always been a dedicated, caring parent.
Diddy’s Family Background and Relationships
Sean Diddy and his late wife Kim Porter, who died in 2018 at the age of 47, had a son named Christian, 26, and twin daughters, Jessie and D’Lila, 17. Diddy also adopted Quincy, Porter’s 33-year-old son, whom she had with Al B. Yes, indeed.
Diddy is a father to several children in addition to Porter. He is the parent of two children: Chance, age 18, and Justin, age 30, who is shared with stylist Misa Hylton. Dana Tran gave birth to Combs’ youngest daughter, Love, in October 2022.
Diddy has made an effort to maintain ties with his family since his arrest. He “desperately” wanted to talk to his children while incarcerated at the City of New York Department of Corrections, according to a source who made the revelation last week. His family had been “turning to God for guidance and strength” and “leaning on each other for support” during that time, according to reports.
Legal Troubles and Public Backlash
Three major charges were brought against Diddy after his arrest on September 16: conspiracy to engage in racketeering, forced sex trafficking, deception or coercion, and transportation for prostitution. He entered a not-guilty plea to every accusation. Combs was reportedly denied bail after the arrest and put on suicide watch.
After Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura filed a lawsuit in November 2023, alleging Diddy of rape and physical abuse throughout their ten-year relationship, Combs found himself in legal hot water. The following day, the lawsuit was resolved. But when a video surfaced in May 2024 that purported to show Combs hitting Cassie in a hotel room in 2016, the situation got much more heated. After the video went public, Combs—who had previously refuted her accusations of sexual abuse—admitted that his acts were “inexcusable.”
Diddy continues to refute any wrongdoing even though he is currently the target of at least eight different lawsuits about different allegations.
