Jennifer Lopez presented the ultimate encore when she walked down the aisle for a second wedding ceremony to Ben Affleck on Saturday, August 20.
The elaborate event took place at Affleck’s 87-acre home just outside Savannah, GA. This time, the newlyweds shared the special day with their friends and family. Guests included A-listers like Matt Damon, Kevin Smith, and Jason Mewes. The bride and groom were followed down the aisle by their children.
The sprawling estate was dotted with white flowers, chairs, and even a snowy piano. Tables were elegantly set up on the riverfront, and a platform had been set up for the dazzling fireworks display. There is no doubt that the most memorable sight of the day was Ben and J Lo exchanging their vows in front of loved ones.
Affleck sported a tuxedo with black pants and a white jacket. Lopez, more radiant than ever, dazzled in a white Ralph Lauren gown with a long, ruffled train. Her dramatic veil was a show-stopping 20-feet-long. The ceremony was officiated by Jay Shetty, a famous life coach, and podcaster.
The beloved couple was previously engaged in 2002. They called things off in 2004, blaming media attention for the collapse of their relationship. After splitting from baseball superstar Alex Rodriguez in April 2021, Lopez and Affleck rekindled their relationship. They went public as a couple in July 2021 and announced their engagement in April 2022, almost twenty years since the first proposal.
On July 16, the lovebirds jetted to Las Vegas for an impromptu wedding at the famous Little White Wedding Chapel. J Lo detailed the experience of standing in line for a marriage license with four other couples and “barely” making it to the chapel by the closing time of midnight. The ceremony might not have been what the world expected for the A-listers, but Lopez called it “the best.”
That surprise Vegas ceremony was a beautiful chapter for two people who got a rare second chance at love. When she confirmed the news on July 17, Lopez simply stated, “We did it. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.”
Here’s to many more years of happiness for the new Mr. and Mrs. Affleck.
