How Jocelyn Wedow’s Booming Modeling Career Landed Her a Part in an Upcoming Project with Michael Bay

1 Mins read

Originally from Ontario, Jocelyn Wedow could not have predicted that her future would include a starlet career as an actress. But that’s exactly what happened to her!

For Wedow, it all started when she moved to Toronto for her university studies. Her successful career later in modeling in the United States paved the way to an acting career.

As a teenager, Wedow had planned to enter the medical field. At the University of Toronto, she began a major in Psychology. She figured that she would pursue dermatology or psychiatry after graduation. While the medical field still held her interest, she began exploring a more artistic and creative side to her personality. When she was scouted by Canadian model Nick Bateman, she discovered that modeling was a great way to express herself artistically.

And she immediately began to make a name for herself. CW Management and Elite Model Management signed her, which led her to modeling gigs in Los Angeles and Miami. Many magazines have featured her, modeling for clothing and swimwear brands. Most notably, she modeled for Swim Week in Miami and has been featured in Sports Illustrated.

As Wedow got increasingly comfortable in front of the camera, she began to consider a career in acting. As a Los Angeles model, she was able to begin auditioning. She landed a leading role in a film called Summit Fever, which is currently in pre-production. Directed by Julian Gilbey, Summit Fever tells the story of a young climber attempting to summit three mountains in Chamonix. Wedow scored the leading role of “Natascha.”

Additionally, film director Michael Bay gave Wedow a part in an upcoming project. Although still in its early stages, Wedow feels thrilled to be working alongside such a talented and well-known director. Wedow believes her modeling career helped her land a part in this project. Her experience in front of the camera gave her the confidence to expand her performance repertoire. While this project is still in its early stages, Wedow is working hard to explore her new passion for performance.

When Wedow first went off to university, she couldn’t have foreseen that it would end with her becoming a Hollywood actress. But now, she says, she can’t see where life takes her next.
