Meet The “King”

3 Mins read

Can you tell us a little about your life?

At the age of 17, which was about two years ago, I was jobless and basically no one was there to help me out. I had no motivation in life to do anything. Luckily, a friend of mine introduced me be cryptocurrency, how I can buy/sell stocks, and the understanding of the Wall Street world. I also learned about social media as a whole and how I can become an entrepreneur, if I wanted to. Throughout all this, I was already having some personal problems of my own. A bad breakup left me mentally and physically damaged. Plus, not having a proper roof over my head and being in foster care at a young age of 12+ really took a toll on me too. Sometimes, I still have to battle certain past events that kept me down as a whole. However, schooling myself was what kept me going forward. During that time, I was hopeless to a point where I ended up dropping out for a few months. But, in those months when I didn’t have to worry about school, I would visit my library pretty much every day, no matter how bad the weather got. I didn’t give up on that. I did my research and would save up money for me to invest. Honestly, it was the best thing I could have done during my teenage years. Once I returned back to school, I had a goal to reach and I ended up graduating last year in 2020. This helped me tremendously because now I can do things I never I thought I would be able to do by the age of 19. That being said, I can now focus on hobbies I loved throughout my teen years, such as fashion and art.

Tell us something about your interests and the projects you are working on.

As a child growing up, I loved art itself and favorited drawing. I would often submit my artwork in different art-related competitions that were held with other schools. I can express myself more freely through my art. Just last year I started doing digital artwork, and the customers always love all of my creations for them. This resulted in me venturing into the tattooing world, which was another one of my interests as I was growing up. I am still new at this, but so far it is working out quite well for me. Besides art, fashion was another one of my interests. As a child who didn’t grew up with much, fashion was not really something I could think about. Now, I ended up starting my own clothing company, and my limited pieces sold out very quickly, it is in the BETA phase though, but I will soon come out with an LLC. Also, I love thrifting as well, and I do it on a regular basis. At the moment, I have more than 17.5K+ followers on Depop, including a decent number of followers on different selling platforms. I mainly sell and buy vintage items, such as different styles of shirts. This is still a journey I am exploring.

How do you stay motivated?

I want to help others who might be going through the same thing as me, hence, I often go to events in order to talk about my illnesses, trying my best to comfort others and explain things in a way they will understand. Plus, I am always experimenting with different ideas to keep me motivated. I am just trying to live in the moment and work on myself. It’s not like I’m swimming in money, but knowing that your hard work paid off when life was kicking you in every way possible, it feels good and keeps me moving forward.

How can people get in touch with you?

Anyone who wants to know more about the work I do can follow me on my Instagram page which is @lilbald, my name is King and thank you for listening.
