Pamela Anderson Opens Up About Decision to Stop Wearing Makeup

1 Mins read

Former “Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson has made waves by embracing a makeup-free lifestyle and shedding the heavy cosmetic routines she was once known for. In an interview featured in Elle magazine, Anderson revealed her reasons for this transformation, describing the experience as “liberating, enjoyable, and a little rebellious.”

The 56-year-old actress, also recognized for her role in “Home Improvement,” disclosed that her decision to forgo makeup was influenced by a desire to regain control over her appearance. Anderson’s signature thin eyebrows and smokey eyeliner have now been replaced by a stripped-down, natural look. This shift in her makeup routine was sparked by the passing of her longtime makeup artist, Alexis Vogel, who succumbed to breast cancer in 2019. Following Vogel’s demise, Anderson felt that abstaining from makeup was the right choice for her.

“I just felt, without Alexis, it’s just better for me not to wear makeup,” Anderson explained.

Known for her role in “Barb Wire,” the actress characterized her new appearance as “freeing, fun, and a little rebellious.” She shared that she observed many individuals opting for elaborate makeup looks, prompting her to diverge from the norm and adopt a more natural stance. Anderson acknowledged the changes that come with aging and humorously remarked on her evolving reflection, saying, “I think we all start looking a little funny when we get older. And I’m kind of laughing at myself when I look at the mirror. I go, ‘Wow, this is really… what’s happening to me?’ It’s a journey.”

Earlier this year, Anderson made a bold statement by gracing the digital cover of Women’s Wear Daily without makeup but adorned with a diamond tiara. She expressed a sense of empowerment in embracing a pared-down appearance. Notably, Anderson is an advocate for aging naturally and has no plans for Botox or fillers. “I don’t like those injections, and that doesn’t work on me,” she asserted. “I want to see what’s going to happen.”

Pamela Anderson’s shift away from heavy makeup regimens echoes a growing trend toward embracing natural beauty and authenticity, garnering attention and admiration from her fans and followers.
