DJ Abhijit releases his first official “Feliz Bailando” worldwide.

Abhijit Kamavarapu also known as DJ Abhijit is one of the most popular names in nightclub circuit across India. Hailing from Hyderabad, this music sensation has been part of the industry for over 14 years now and has just released his first official international dance music track “Feliz Bailando” with Techkarma Records globally. He laughs and tells us “Feliz Bailando is a Latin house track and means happy dancing, and that’s what generally my music does”. This tracks is already garnering a lot of attention worldwide and is becoming part of playlists of many party goers. Not just this but his next two official releases which will again be International are all ready for release and will be hitting stores soon.

His youtube channel has already garnered 100k plus views and he promises to being in new content regularly. He releases his bollwood remixes under the album name “ABHIDESI” and has already released 8 of these. The 9^th one is releasing on holi & there is already a lot of excitement over this release.

He is one of the few DJs in India who gives audio-visual feel to his live performances. He says “Seeing what you hear gives a more personalized experience to my fans & it connects them more to my events”,

His performances across India are also talked about as he has played in few of the best venues , Prism, Fat Pigeon, By The Bottle in Hyderabad, Boudoir in Kolkata, Pasha & Flying Elephant in Chennai, Big Pitcher in Bangalore etc.

What were some of the main challenges and goals when starting out as a DJ and how have they changed over time? What is it about DJing, compared to, say, producing your own music, that makes it interesting for you?

When you start out, the challenge is to keep proving yourself, so that you can make a living out of DJing, something that very few DJs too. But even when you’ve been DJing professionally for a few years, you have to still have the same work ethic and drive. If you don’t, you’ll be forgotten pretty quickly.

DJ Abhijit has already shared stage with some big names in bollywood , KK, Sukhbir,Mohit Chauhan, Mika Singh, Sanam etc and even played alongside international famed Djs Sultan & Shepard. The list keep growing as he has some big names he plans to work in , in-near future. For many who doesn’t know, he is also a music and artist curator for many nightclubs across Hyderabad. HE quips , “I love helping the nightclubs shape their events, artist and music scenes in terms of genres and it requires a lot of responsibility. “

When we ask him about his musical influences he gives names of popular international Djs like Armin Van Buuren, PVD, Tiesto & Hardwell.

He wants to become a music director in near future and he wants to work on some original lyrics.

When asked how do you make use of technology? In terms of the mechanism between technology and creativity, what do humans excel at, what do machines excel at?

Humans explore the possibilities of sound and bring the machines to life. I don’t think they’ll ever be able to write an algorithm that, for example, could write a great house music track. Even though the greatest tracks are often not so complex in structure, it’s the simplicity that makes them even more genius. Just like a CDJs, the machine is the instrument, but it’s the humans playing it that makes them great.
