The human body itself warns if there is any danger of infection. It is also noteworthy that those with obesity and high body mass index have a higher risk of infection. To reach the conclusion, scientists surveyed the health of about 1400 people.

New York, IANS: Are you allergic to any food item? If yes, then your risk of corona infection can be reduced by 50 percent. Scientists have made this claim in a recent research. Researchers from the US-based National Javies Health and Vanderbilt University reported that a different type of inflammation occurs in a food allergy patient due to type 2 cytokines. It is helpful in preventing corona infection.

Chief Scientist Max A. Siebold explained that patients suffering from food allergies have a high sensitivity. The human body itself warns if there is any danger of infection. It is also worth mentioning that those with obesity and high body mass index have a higher risk of infection. According to the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, people with asthma also have a lower risk of infection.

To reach the conclusion of the research, scientists surveyed the health of about 1400 people. The team found that children 12 years of age or younger were at higher risk of infection. However, it was found in the investigation that 75 percent of these children were asymptomatic. At the same time, 59 percent of adolescents and 38 percent of adults were also found to be asymptomatic. According to the team, children are more prone to infection. They require more care, as being asymptomatic, there is also a high risk of home infection transmission.
