Medakit Ltd, founded by serial-entrepreneur Mike Touzard, recently announced the launch of the world’s first Monkeypox antigen rapid test.
The Medakit Monkeypox Antigen test is a highly accurate immunoassay for the in vitro qualitative detection of the antigen of Monkeypox. The test is performed by healthcare professionals and uses swab samples from patients with signs and symptoms suggestive of Monkeypox, or people with either known or suspected exposure to Monkeypox.
Medakit will also offer antibody and PCR tests for the Monkeypox virus.
The test is another addition to the comprehensive Medakit portfolio of solutions to help healthcare systems combat infectious diseases like Covid-19, HIV, Malaria etc.
Mike Touzard wants to change the healthcare industry – he already has a remarkable track record of disruption. As a serial entrepreneur, Mike first dabbled into e-commerce, then marketing, then founded group marketing app UWard, which he sold three years later. In 2020, he set out to transform healthcare with Medakit, now one of the largest genetic testing companies in the world. Mike dreams big and plans to reconfigure the way we think about healthcare by making DNA testing affordable. He wants to empower everyone to control their own health, and says regular genetic screening should give more people control over their own health.
“There’s a lot we can do in telemedicine, personalised health and fertility. Areas that we think have huge potential, but no one’s really addressing. »
Mike started his first company in 2011 at the age of 15, and has been active in different areas such as technology (mobile apps,AI,..), real estate and healthcare.
He recently got the honour to join the Forbes U30 Technology Council – 2020 Promotion in Hong Kong.
By mixing his skills in technology and what he learnt with Medakit, Mike is now focusing on creating tomorrow’s technology that will bring life-saving healthcare solutions into everyone’s home.
