As an entrepreneur, many of you know first-hand how important it is to overcome fear in order to achieve success. Fear can be paralyzing and prevent you from taking the necessary risks to grow your business. But by recognizing and facing your fears, you can gain the confidence you need to reach your goals.
We recently spoke to Cat Saunders, a multi-faceted entrepreneur that has successfully stepped out of the daily 9-5 grind and created success online. She has a successful TEDx talk that’s nearing over 100k views within a year, is a women’s coach and founder of the Wild Free and Wealthy Collective where she mentors, teaches, and supports women to create financial freedom.
We asked Cat what drives her passion to support women in the way she does:
“So many women are waking up to the fact that we need to do emotional healing from cultural and social programming, clear ancestral trauma, but there is still block for many women when it comes to worthiness around money and income.”
“For women to truly be emotionally free and have the power of choice, one must understand financial freedom and remove their blocks” Cat Continues
“If you think about how many decisions women make for themselves or their families based on a lack of money. It’s the choice of being able to spend time with their family over working 2-3 jobs. It’s the quality of the food you eat and put on the table, it’s the stability in knowing you have stability and choice in your living environment and the home in which you live”.
As we get to know Cat a bit more, you can really see her light up as she shares how her work makes a positive impact on others.
“I know how important it is to have a community of support around you, a collective of women who help you rise and hold you as you grow in all areas of your life. Having strong yet supportive and caring women in my life is what has allowed me to step forward in my truth and now I get to pay that forward in service to others”
Cat goes on to share that fear and limiting beliefs are one of the biggest things that hold women back and block them from becoming all that they desire, their possibility.
We asked Cat to share some of her strategies that have worked for her when overcoming fear:
Identify your fears.
The first step in overcoming fear is to identify what you’re afraid of. Is it failure? Success? Rejection? Being seen? Public speaking? Once you know what you’re afraid of, you can start to address it. Write down your fears and take some time to reflect on why you’re afraid of them. Understanding what lies in the unconscious mind that creates this false fear and then clearing it out with an aligned practitioner.
Challenge your beliefs.
Often, our fears are rooted in limiting beliefs that we’ve adopted over time. These beliefs can be things like “I’m not good enough” or “I don’t have what it takes to succeed.” It’s important to challenge these beliefs and ask yourself if they’re really true. Are they based on facts or just your own self-doubt fuelled by a lack of support in guiding you to see your true potential?
Take small steps.
Once you have removed the subconscious fears, take action. Overcoming fear is not something that happens overnight. It takes time and effort to build confidence and create new evidence for yourself belief. Start by taking small steps outside of your comfort zone. This could be something as simple as introducing yourself to someone new or asking for help. As you start to take these small steps, you’ll build momentum and confidence.
It’s important to surround yourself with people who believe in you and your vision. Seek out mentors, coaches, or like-minded people who offer support and guidance. Talking to someone who has overcome similar fears can be especially helpful. Follow the people that have had success in the areas your desire to succeed in too.
Taking care of yourself is essential for building confidence and overcoming fear. Make sure to get enough sleep, eat well, exercise, and take time for yourself. Practicing mindfulness, meditation, or other relaxation and healing techniques will help you manage stress, anxieties you may have and move forward in your life.
Remember, fear is a natural part of the entrepreneurial journey and growth. You can build the confidence and resilience you need to achieve your goals if you allow yourself to explore what those false fears are. Don’t let fear hold you back from your dreams. Embrace it, challenge it, and use it as motivation to grow and succeed.
You can’t achieve new goals or obtain growth by repeating the things you’ve already achieved. New goals come with the territory of unchartered waters, and in new beliefs you must create within yourself.
