Game of Thrones Actor Drops $40 Million Lawsuit on LA Attorney over False Pedophile Charges

1 Mins read

Joseph Gatt, recognized for his role in “Game of Thrones,” has initiated legal action against the city of Los Angeles and Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón.

Gatt, 52, seeks $40 million in damages following dismissed paedophile charges stemming from a 2022 arrest.

Allegations of Career Damage

In court filings presented in federal court in California, Gatt alleges that the defendants publicly labelled him as a serial paedophile, resulting in severe repercussions for his career.

The lawsuit contends that Gatt was swiftly ostracized, leading to the termination of professional contracts and representation.

Claims of Bias and Fabricated Evidence

The actor further accuses Deputy District Attorney Angela Brunson of harbouring a personal bias against him and attempting to manipulate the legal process.

Dean Z. Pamphilis, a partner with Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP representing Gatt, asserts that the charges against Gatt were based on fabricated evidence.

The lawsuit highlights that the criminal complaint against Gatt was voluntarily dismissed by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office twenty months later, following the disclosure of fabricated evidence.

However, by this time, Gatt had already suffered significant losses to his reputation, career, and personal life.

Background of Allegations

Gatt’s arrest in April 2022 stemmed from accusations of engaging in sexually explicit online communication with a minor residing in another state.

The lawsuit clarifies that the interaction between Gatt and the teenager was limited to a Cameo video recorded for the fan’s birthday and subsequent Instagram messages.

Upon his arrest, Gatt promptly denied the allegations, emphasizing their falsehood and his full cooperation with law enforcement. Despite his efforts to refute the claims, the damage to his reputation and career was substantial.

Joseph Gatt, known for his roles in “Game of Thrones,” “Titanic 666,” and “Black Adam,” faces a challenging legal battle as he seeks justice and financial compensation for the fallout from the dismissed charges.

The lawsuit underscores the importance of due process and the devastating impact of false accusations on individuals’ lives and livelihoods. As the legal proceedings unfold, Gatt remains determined to reclaim his reputation and restore his career.
