Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes were seen taking walks together in the bustling city of New York, adding fuel to rumors of a rekindled romance.
The duo, known for their hit song “Señorita” and their past romantic relationship, were spotted shopping in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood on Thursday, May 25. This marked their second public outing in the Big Apple this week.
During their city excursion, both artists sported black athletic attire. Cabello, 26, wore a t-shirt, shorts, black sneakers, and sunglasses while carrying a white cross-body bag. Mendes, 24, opted for a tank top, shorts, black sunglasses, and a backpack paired with white sneakers.
The pair was also seen holding hands while strolling through New York City Tuesday, making it their most recent sighting after being photographed together at a comedy show in Los Angeles earlier in the month. In late April, they were also observed walking hand in hand through the streets of Venice, California.
Although neither Cabello or Mendes has officially confirmed their relationship status since announcing their split in November 2021 after two years of dating, the pair recently gained attention for sharing a kiss at the 2023 Coachella Music Festival. Videos captured by festival attendees, including one shared on 102.7 KIIS FM’s Twitter account, showed them engaged in conversation. Following the viral videos, a source revealed to PEOPLE that the two musicians had been in touch for several months and had been “hanging out.”
According to the insider, Mendes and Cabello continue to spend time together and enjoy leisurely walks and casual dinners. The source added that they find the couple adorable as they hold hands and laugh, appearing genuinely happy to be reconnected.
The Coachella videos marked the first public appearance of the pair together since they announced their breakup on Instagram through a joint statement. In the statement shared on their Instagram Story, they expressed that while they decided to end their romantic relationship, their love for each other as humans remains strong. They emphasized that their relationship started as best friends and will continue in the same manner.
Last month, Cabello teased a snippet of a new track titled “June Gloom” on Instagram, which seemed to allude to their reunion at Coachella. The short clip featured Cabello singing, “How come you’re just so much better? / Is this gonna end ever? / I guess I’ll f— around and find out / Are you coming to Coachella? / If you don’t, it’s whatever / If you do, honey, it’ll be all I think about.”
