Shloka Sudhakar is a fashion designer known for her Indo-western and bridal clothing line across India. She is a popular name among millennials and brides and is known for finely blending Indian traditions with foreign cultures. Her embroideries and styles have always made statements , they’re chic , elegant and have fun colours of elements in them. She has made sure that her collections are always unique and stand out elegantly. Her collection “Jeannie” where she used denim fabric in her Indian clothing line with Indian embroidery was when she came into the limelight in the Indian fashion circuit. Her label today is what every Indian bride and bridesmaids look forward to wearing for various occasions like mehendi , sangeet , cocktail and more !
Being a fashion designer is never constant , every collection has to be planned and executed with something that’s new and original. Every show at fashion weeks have to be conceptualised and executed with new ideas and designs. Shloka says, “I make sure to keep the clothes elegant and classy, and make sure to use some fun embellishments, that’s my signature style. My sarees and lehengas are most looked out for and there is always a fun element in all my pieces. I have women coming down from different cities to customise their dream outfits , and I always make sure to put myself in their shoes and understand before designing each piece. I also believe that as a designer, you should believe in each piece you design.”
Indian designers have been making a mark constantly internationally for decades now. U.S.A , U.K, Singapore, Dubai and even South Africa have many fashionistas who look out for Indian designer clothing. The Indian fashion culture is already on the global map. Shloka is another designer who is venturing out and is looking at being able to make a mark in the international Indian wear segment.
“I have had a show at Texas and Dubai previously when I came up with my denim collection and the collection had a good response and had many pieces sold! We have got orders and customised clothes for Indian brides and bridesmaids who are living in other countries too, but now it’s a different ball game to be retailing at stores in London and Dubai”, says Shloka Sudhakar.
Without a formal education in fashion design and coming from the finance background , her business background is what has helped her explore more from the business perspective. She says, there is more to any profession you are in , there is a lot of learning each day and learning never ends. Taking one step at a time, she has a long way to go and she hopes each passing year she reaches many more milestones.

Don’t copy to make quick money, always look at being the best version as a designer in the long run.”, she signs of.
