The 32 year old barber from Northamptonshire, JJ Savani also known as Jeet A Savani of Ikon Man UK is the go to barber for Dubai’s Elite and A Listers. Who has given cuts to YouTube celebrity comedians, bloggers and the rich A-Listers as well as players for Dubai’s football team Gulf Eagles.

Fox Interviewer recently caught up with JJ Savani who is heading back out to Dubai next Friday ahead of their cultural celebrations to make sure they are ready to party the night away with a fresh trim.

JJ Savani

JJ Savani told us the first time he was called out to Dubai was 3 years ago for an exclusive pre wedding shoot with Italian Fashion Mogul “Antonio Ventriglia”. JJ Savani mentioned that “After doing Antonio’s hair and make up, the amount of referrals and call outs to Dubai just rocketed as he is such an influential person in the Fashion game out in Dubai”.

Following that first visit JJ Savani explained that the call outs included all expenses covered to Travel from Northamptonshire to UAE and back to simply do a few haircuts across 2-3 days. JJ said “Dubai is a complete different ball game, they do everything BIG! One moment I’m cutting hair in a private Villa, the next in a Yatch and next in somebody private office!”

Having built such a strong client base over the last 3 years and building lasting friendships with my clients, JJ said you really get an insight on how the country works, how the people think and most importantly you get influenced with how their mindset works in terms of business and entrepreneurship, all in all you realise out there you need to work hard but reward yourself by partying even harder!

JJ Savani mentioned “After getting to know all these people in a personal basis you realise they really have no interest in talking about work and their success, it’s all about connecting with them about life and really just a chilled experience. For example in December just gone I cut hair at Sevens Stadium for the Egyptian footballer Mohammed Hassan, Also known as El Magicko who plays for the National team Gulf Heroes. When I’m trimming Magicko he never wants to talk football! It’s always about his life and how he keeps motivated in life, which is great as it gives you another perspective on life!”

Speaking to JJ and asking him about costings and fees he did not disclose much to us other than it’s a great opportunity to be able to cater for the Elite.

When asking him what is the main difference in styles out there to here in the UK, he mentioned that here in the UK it’s a lot more about fades, where as in the UAE it’s all about longer scissor cuts and the focus is around the beard.

Asking JJ Savani what’s next he mentioned “ I just want to keep growing my brand and next in the list is going out to Prague to judge the Barber Battle EU competition followed by flying out to New York for CT barber Expo in May”
