American Airlines was forced to cancel about 1,000 flights since Friday, due to a shortage of staff, due to disruptions related to bad weather.
According to FlightAware, which tracks delays and cancellations in US airspace, American Airlines cancelled more than 800 flights on Friday and Saturday, and expects to cancel more than 400 flights on Sunday.
David Seymour, general manager of American Airlines, said in a note to employees Saturday that the difficulties began Thursday with strong winds that hampered the capacity of the company’s centre in Dallas and the movement of employees.
