Packers V/s Seahawks

A Night of Frustration at Lumen Feild?

The Green Bay Packers locked an incredible victory with a 30-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks, putting on an exciting performance that made fans stand on their toes throughout the game during the NFL.  Green Bay started taking control of the game from the initial phase after scoring touchdowns on their first two drives.  Josh Jacobs secured the charge with 136 total yards and Jordan Love matched for two touchdowns with Romeo Doubs leading the impeccable catch to seal the win.

It was indeed an action on the field that started discussions about the fixed emotions among the fans. The longtime Seahawks fans especially those holding season tickets expressed deep frustration by X user, one Seahawk fan with over 20 years of attending the games described that night as “jarring”, not because of the poor play but because of the growing number of opposing fans in the stadium.  As the Packers’ cheering was storming around the field covering Seattle’s, the frustration over raising the ticket prices and an imbalanced fan base reaching its peak was seen this year.

The ticket prices for the NFL climbed over the years, and for many loyal fans the cost of the game is being labelled as an ‘Unaffordable Passion’.  As a disturbing result?  Seahawks fans are highly priced out and forced to sell tickets often to the part-time fans or worse the opposing team fans. One of the season ticket holders shared, “I didn’t have a Seahawk fan within two seats of Me” shared one season ticket holder adding that many fans now feel powerless to cheer for their team.

The break between the team’s performance and the loyalty of its fans is not a new issue. Still, it became painful and a casual reason on this night that the celebration of the 12th man seemed hollow when the stadium energy was taken by Parker fans who could be heard chanting ‘Go Pack  Go’ louder than Seattle’s on the own stadium and among the ow people.

The Packers won as a great example with some incredible stats, but it was clearly not just about the game for the Seahawks.  Facing the loss on the home field was seen as an insult after pushing it all over the ticket prices. It is a troubling sign for a franchisee who needs to reconnect with the culture and the roots to rebuild the electric atmosphere of the game that once made Lumen Field one of the toughest places to play in the NFL.
