You’re a dad, Harry!
Tuesday, April 25, publicist Scott Boute verified to USA TODAY that Daniel Radcliffe, known for playing the lead role in the “Harry Potter” movies, and his partner Erin Darke, have become parents to their first child. Boute did not disclose any additional information.
In March 2023, the representative confirmed that the couple was anticipating the arrival of their child. Radcliffe and the 38-year-old actress first met 10 years ago when they portrayed love interests in the 2013 film “Kill Your Darlings.”
In October 2015, Radcliffe had described the film in a Playboy interview as “a wonderful record of us flirting for the first time.” He added, “There’s no acting going on – not from my end, anyway.” According to him, “There’s a moment when she makes me laugh, and I’m laughing as me and not as my character. She was incredibly funny and smart. I knew I was in trouble.”
The couple teamed up once again for an episode of Radcliffe’s TBS series “Miracle Workers” in 2021. Radcliffe also opened up in October about his approach to fatherhood.
In a statement to Newsweek, he expressed his desire for his potential children to be present on film sets, saying, “I would love them to be around film sets.” He added that he hoped they would show an interest in being part of the crew, such as in the art department. However, he also stated that he wishes to keep them away from fame, saying, “But it’s really the fame side of it that should be avoided at all costs.”
