Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford call it quits: What went wrong?

Wednesday, May 17, Page Six broke the news that Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford have officially ended their relationship.

The “Lovely” singer’s reps announced, “We can confirm Billie and Jesse did split amicably and remain good friends.”

Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford have not been spotted together since their last public appearance together at Coachella in April. During the music festival held in Indio, California, the former couple intentionally kept a low profile.

In May, Eilish attended the Met Gala without Rutherford, wearing a striking sheer dress created by Simone Rocha. Later that evening, at an afterparty, Eilish was seen getting cozy with Ava Capri, an actress from “Love, Victor” who identifies as queer. However, Eilish’s representative denies any claims of cheating, stating that such speculation is unfounded.

Eilish and Rutherford’s romantic involvement was first rumored in October 2022, and they officially acknowledged their relationship on November 1 through an Instagram post. The musicians later made their debut as a couple on the red carpet, attending the LACMA Art + Film Gala while wrapped in Gucci blankets.

During that time, Eilish expressed her enthusiasm about dating Rutherford in an interview with Vanity Fair, where she acknowledged the “Scary Love” singer as the “most attractive person alive” and admitted she had “managed to win his affection.” In December 2022, the “Happier Than Ever” singer celebrated her 21st birthday with Rutherford by her side.

The affectionate couple openly exchanged kisses in front of attendees just moments before a DJ commanded everyone to raise their hands and offer a celebratory toast to the birthday girl. In the event photographs, Rutherford can be seen embracing Eilish affectionately. The duo donned costumes as Mr. and Mrs. Claus, aligning with the holiday-themed occasion.

Regarding his sister’s age difference with the “Sweater Weather” singer, producer Finneas previously stated, “Listen, as long as she’s happy, I’m happy.”

Prior to her relationship with Rutherford, Eilish was involved with actor Matthew Tyler Vorce, while Rutherford had a romantic involvement with model Devon Lee Carlson from 2015 to 2021.
