Li Jin is a Chinese-born American venture capitalist at the forefront of web3 investments and the ownership economy. She is the co-founder and general partner of Variant Fund, a first-check venture firm that backs software owned and operated by its users. She is passionate about using technology to empower creators, communities, and users to own their own platforms and economies.

Variant Fund was formed in 2021 after it merged with Atelier Ventures, Li’s previous fund that focused on the creator economy and the future of work. Some of her notable investments include Mirror, BitClout, Rally, and Foundation.

Li is also a prolific writer and podcaster who shares her insights and frameworks on topics such as the passion economy, social tokens, NFTs, and AI music. She has a Substack newsletter with over 50,000 subscribers, a podcast called Means of Creation with Nathan Baschez, and a TikTok account with over 100,000 followers.
