Adam Sandler and his real-life family take the spotlight in the official trailer for Netflix’s upcoming film “You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah,” set to premiere on August 25. The movie is an adaptation of Fiona Rosenbloom’s novel of the same title, focusing on the coming-of-age journey of best friends Stacy Friedman and Lydia Katz as they navigate the challenges of middle school life.

Stacy, portrayed by Sandler’s daughter Sunny, is busy planning her bat mitzvah and harboring a crush on Andy Goldfarb. However, things take a turn when Lydia, played by newcomer Zaara Kuttemperoor, ends up winning over Stacy’s crush, leading to a rift between the two friends. Sandler’s eldest daughter, Sadie, also makes an appearance in the film.

Idina Menzel, known for her role in Sandler’s “Uncut Gems,” plays his wife in the movie. The cast also includes Luis Guzmán, Sarah Sherman from “Saturday Night Live,” Ido Mosseri, Samantha Lorraine, Dylan Hoffman, Dean Scott Vazquez, Miya Cech, Dylan Dash, Millie Thorpe, and newcomers Ivory Baker and Zaara Kuttemperoor.

The film is directed by Sammi Cohen, with a screenplay by Alison Peck. Sandler serves as a producer alongside Tim Herlihy from Happy Madison. Additional producers include Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton from Alloy Entertainment, as well as Barry Bernardi, Judit Maull, and Kevin Grady.

This family-centric comedy promises a heartwarming and relatable story of friendship, growing up, and the challenges that come with it. As the Sandler family members unite on screen, “You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah” is poised to offer audiences a blend of humor and poignant moments.
